Remember the buzz when General Motors’ CEO Rick Wagoner was the first auto executive to keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) back in 2008? Then Ford became a fixture on the CES dais and last year Audi joined the party.
Not to be outdone, the head of Mercedes-Benz Cars and Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, Dieter Zetsche will deliver a keynote address at CES in January.
As in the past several years, car technology will be a key focus at the 2012 CES, which will feature electric vehicles in the GoElectricDrive TechZone. There’s also a Location Based Services TechZone at the show, and a Safe Driver TechZone for collision avoidance products as well as technology for lane-assistance, parking, speed monitoring, hands-free, text-to-voice, and driver drowsiness detection.
Zetsche’s address is slated for Tuesday, 11am, January 10 at the Las Vegas Hilton Theater at The Venetian hotel.
