Best Buy announced it has created a new online Marketplace where it has partnered with other sellers to expand Best Buy’s assortment online by a third in time for the holiday shopping season.

Best Buy Marketplace“Increased assortment of products, brands and price points is exactly what people have told us they want,” said John Thompson, senior VP Best Buy. “We listened, and developed Marketplace to meet these unmet needs.”

New third-party retailers participating in Best Buy Marketplace include Buy.com and others listed here. Best Buy will continue to evaluate other sellers to add to its site, based on their standards in customer service, it said. It examines third-party sellers’ standards in overall customer satisfaction, order cancellation history and back order history.

Best Buy guarantees all purchases from the Marketplace site and users still get a single, simplified check out experience.

The company noted “New partners in Best Buy Marketplace will offer only complementary products to Best Buy’s existing online assortment at the best price available with adequate inventory, so consumers won’t have to spend time sorting through redundant products or comparing prices from multiple websites. Items purchased from Marketplace sellers will also earn Best Buy Reward Zone points for buyers.”
