Last year was challenging for car electronics and the economy in general, but In Car Experts (ICE), said its members beat the odds.
Over half of the buying/marketing group’s members report that sales were up on average 25 percent over 2009.
Total car stereo retail sales in 2010 were down 7 percent for the first 10 months through October, according to the NPD Group.
Several ICE members credit the group’s Web site for driving traffic into the stores. Chris Garner of Garners Stereo Center said the Web site, which refers consumers to local car stereo shops, produced a 20 percent increase in its store traffic.
