JL Audio Issues Recall

share on:

JL Audio is voluntarily recalling certain HD750/1 and MHD750/1 car audio and marine amplifiers because of a defect that can result in a fire under rare circumstances, it said.

The company is offering to modify the amplifiers at no charge to fix the problem. It’s asking that owners of the affected products (which shipped prior to December 2009), stop using them and bring their vehicle or boat to a JL Audio retailer. The company will compensate retailers and pay for shipping.

Consumers can expect a receive their amp back in 7 to 15 days and the repaired amps will have at least a one-year warranty. JL Audio has increased staffing to handle the returns.

The recall only affects the HD750/1 autosound amplifier and MHD750/1 marine audio amplifier.

The return procedure is outlined at www.jlaudiorecall.com.

  1. JL Audio isn’t recalling these amps because of what happened with Toyota. JL Audio is recalling these amps because they have integrity as a manufacturer. It’s what they do, and that’s why they’re the best in amplifier and subwoofer sales. While most companies would hide behind a corporate shell, JL is doing something that should be applauded. Hats off to everyone at JL Audio.

  2. JL Audio Always did a good job with this kind of stuff.
But i’ll bet the fine Toyota got is helping fule the fire of Recall it faster.

If these Amps can Cause a fire: Must be smoking Hot!
