Kicker won a CES 2011 Innovations award for a new hideaway powered car subwoofer and Scosche won awards for five accessories for the car, iPhone, iPod and iPad. Also in car electronics Firstech and Audiovox took Best of Innovations awards for the DroneMobile and MultiviewCam with pedestrian warning, respectively.
Kicker’s mini powered sub is designed to add bass to any car. It combines a 150-watt amplifier and a 6.5 inch long throw subwoofer with an 8-inch square passive radiator in a box that is only 3 inches high and 14 inches deep.
It comes with a quick connect power harness and straps so you can install it and easily remove it later. The sub will make its formal debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
Scosche won awards for its flipSYNC II keychain USB charge and sync cable for the iPod/iPhone and its full color touch screen universal AC controller for aftermarket car stereos. It also took Innovations awards for the iClops camera for the iPad and iPod, the freedom MIC Bluetooth mic for the Flip and a wireless heart rate monitor for the iPod and iPhone.
In other categories some of the Best of Innovations award winners were Microsoft for the Kinect, HTC for the EVO 4G smartphone, and Sony for the Internet TV & Blu-ray Disc Player Powered by Google TV.
