The Ford Focus has been named the official car of the Consumer Electronics Show of 2011 to take place January 6- 9 in Las Vegas.
Yes, there is actually an official car of CES and last year it was the Ford Taurus.

What may be more significant in Ford’s announcement today is that the company has expanded its booth space 4-fold and will show 20 cars on the floor. Yikes!

As for the Focus, its due to ship in early 2011 with the new Ford Sync system including WiFi capability, HD Radio with iTunes Tagging and the MyFord Touch interface. It also has a Sony audio system and active park assist.

If you plug in a broadband USB modem into the radio, the Sync radio will distribute WiFi around the car, creating a hotspot. (You must have your own data plan).

The Focus is the first car in its class to use a Sony car audio system. It includes a class D amplifier developed specifically for the Focus. The system also delivers 355 watts of power to 10 speakers.

Ford said consumers want even smaller cars to include high tech devices, which is its aim in the all new Focus.
