Pandora’s senior VP of business development Jessica Steel will speak at KnowledgeFest about the demand for personalized radio in the car, which she calls the next major technical leap in car electronics.
As mobile Internet becomes available in cars, so the radio will be transformed, in part because consumers are dissatisfied with traditional radio. “There is significant evidence” that consumers want a better radio experience, she said in a statement.
Currently, 75 percent of people who listen to Pandora on their smartphones report spending less time with traditional radio.
Pandora has more than 65 million listeners across the U.S. and it’s one of the top five most popular apps (and the single most popular music app) across smartphones including iPhone, Android and Blackberry (according to Nielsen).
Steel will deliver a keynote luncheon address in Dallas on Monday, October 11.
