Move over Target, now Best Buy has the Kindle too.
Best Buy will carry both 6-inch Kindle 3G and WiFi models starting this fall and will add the Kindle DX with a 9.7-inch screen later in the season.
Best Buy now becomes the sole retailer to our knowledge to carry all the top eReader brands including the Barnes & Noble Nook and Sony Readers (the Touch, Pocket and Daily Editions).
“There’s no question that e-readers have found their rightful place in today’s digital lifestyle,” said Chris Homeister, Best Buy’s senior VP and GM of home entertainment. “Our goal is to help people choose the device that’s right for them by providing the broadest selection of popular e-readers of any retailer, in one convenient place that enables people to easily see, touch, try and buy.”
The Kindle with WiFi will sell at $139.99 at Best Buy and the Kindle 3G will be offered at $189.99. Each will cost consumers 99 cents more than on Amazon.
