The Mobile Electronics Specialists of America (MESA)— the buying group expected to represent a $1/2 billion in car stereo buying power—announced one of its two video vendors will be Concept Enterprises.
Maybe its getting a big dull, all these vendor announcements from MESA, but if the group does wind up with a $1/2 billion in sales out of $4 billion wholesale industry, it could be a significant market force.
Concept joins other MESA partners Kenwood, JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate, Hertz/Audison, HushMat, ATrend, USA Spec, Metra, and IXOS. A second video vendor partner will also be announced.
Concept offers a Chameleon line of video headrests, OEM replacement radios and other mobile video products. It claims the Chameleon headrest, with interchangeable covers to match a car’s interior, have been its best-selling product to date and that it sold 7,000 of them since the Consumer Electronics Show in January. We’re also waiting on MESA’s list of initial retailers (apart from its members of the board).
