First Intelligent Video Switcher for Driver Safety

NAV-TV SVS-6

NAV-TV  said it is releasing the world’s first intelligent video switcher for integrating aftermarket driver safety into the automobile.

The SVS-6 allows the addition of 6 video inputs to any aftermarket video monitor, navigation system or vehicle-specific NAV-TV video interface with a composite rear view camera input. It also works with OEM video monitors.

The SVS-6 eliminates the need for custom made circuits and identifying hard-to-find turn signal wires which are necessary with other video switchers. The inputs are isolated to prevent a bulb check light and can be tied directly to the reverse and turn signal wires at the bulb.

Users may add a backup camera, front view or night vision camera, trailer or 360-degree camera, lane monitoring camera, infant monitoring camera or an additional composite video input to be displayed on an OEM or aftermarket video monitor.

The universal switcher can be activated through either a digital-to-digital connection (D2D), when combined with a vehicle-specific NAV-TV CAN interface, or through analog trigger inputs for aftermarket radios, LCD monitors or NAV-TV video interfaces.

The SVS-6 inputs are configurable through on-board dip switches allowing the following features:

  1. 1)   UART (D2D) Control Input or Analog wire-to-wire Activation
  2. 2) Turn signal camera activation timed to 12 seconds or continuous activation whenever a turn signal is present
  3. 3)   Rear View Camera Priority any time the vehicle is in reverse or Turn Signal Cameras have priority over the rear view camera
  4. 4)  Front camera input timed to 12 seconds upon a momentary activation or active anytime an input is present
  5. 5) Video signal sensing circuit for a trailer camera or 360° degree camera system that automatically bypasses the rear view camera and displays the trailer or 360° camera system when a video signal is present
