Updated: Spirit LLC, a Dania, Florida based exporter of leading brands, is launching its own line of car radios, amps and speakers in the U.S.
Spirit has been exporting and distributing products from leading brands to South America, Mexico and other areas for 10 years. It is now focusing on its own brands for the U.S. market, the basic level DS 18 and the higher end Black Diamond.
Spirit is currently setting up a rep network, which is overseen by National Sales Director Chuck Gitlin, formerly President of Kool Glo.
“The brands have been in existence for years and now we’re bringing a strong foucs on the brand in our market,” said Gitlin.
The DS 18 will be sold both through distributors and direct to dealers and is said to provide among the best margins available to retailers.
It includes two single DIN AV car radios. One model has a 3.2-touch screen and a detachable face. It plays DVDs, CDs, MP3s and has iPod control via USB. The step-up version has a flip-up 7-inch screen as well as the detachable face with inputs for a full stereo system . Optional navigation is also available.
DS 18 amplifiers include an entry-level 2-channel model at 800 watts max. The line caps with a 4,000 watt Class D mono amp. Subwoofers include a 10-inch model that handles 150 watts RMS and a 5-inch model that handles up to 600 watts RMS.
A line of speaker includes the DS3665 6.5″ coaxial rated at 55 watt RMS.
The Black Diamond line will be introduced at the end of the month.
