Kicker (Stillwater Designs) released an iPhone and iPad app to help users design subwoofer enclosures, get the wiring right and find Kicker subwoofer specs.
Since many callers to tech support ask about how to build a subwoofer box, the company released an app to help explain it.
The Kicker U app is $4.99 and there’s a U Lite version that is free.
There’s a “box builder” feature that let you input information and then the app provides a line drawing of the proper enclosure. There’s also a “wiring wizard.”
Kicker U also provides calculators for power wire, port dimensions and tuning frequencies. The company hopes an Android app will follow.
