The global premium car audio market will grow from 4.5 billion USD in 2025 to 6.25 billion USD by 2031, according to a new report from Research and Markets. The Dublin based research firm said the aftermarket will be the fastest growing sales channel over that time.
The report puts annual growth at 5.63%. Research and Markets said rising luxury vehicle sales, more electric vehicles on the road and demand for better in car sound are driving the gains.
Speakers are the largest part of the market by component, the firm said. Speakers are also expected to grow the fastest of any component, at 6.89% a year.
Research and Markets said online sellers, accessory retailers, installers and local installation shops will drive aftermarket growth. These businesses serve drivers who want speaker, amplifier and subwoofer upgrades beyond the factory system.
Systems with 8 to 16 channels led the market in 2025, with about 36% of revenue. The firm said these systems are common in premium and upper midrange vehicles. They often include a dedicated amplifier, a subwoofer and digital signal processing.
The Asia Pacific region accounted for more than 37% of global revenue in 2025. It is both the largest and fastest growing region. North America ranked second, led by the United States.
The report also points to spatial audio as a key trend. Automakers are adding Dolby Atmos, advanced signal processing and more carefully placed speakers to set their premium vehicles apart.
