To safeguard assets and prevent vehicle theft, the system prevents the vehicle from shifting into “Drive” unless an authorized fob is authenticated in close proximity. Built with high-security encryption, SEER actively protects against modern relay attacks and signal-interception vulnerabilities common in standard keyless systems.

Through direct compatibility with Geotab expanders (IOX-AUXM and IOX-CAN) paired with the Geotab GO device, SEER seamlessly feeds physical on-vehicle security events directly into the MyGeotab™ cloud platform. Fleet managers gain access to rich telemetry and actionable automated safety logic:
- “Ghost Driver” & Unauthorized Movement Alerts: Instantly detects vehicle movement when no authorized fob is verified in the cab, sending high-priority theft notifications to dispatch.
- Unattended Idle & Stationary Key Detection: Monitors engine idle status and alerts supervisors when a vehicle idles or a key fob remains stationary inside an unattended vehicle past a configured threshold (e.g., 3 minutes), cutting fuel waste and reducing liability.
- Active Cargo & Camera Theft Intervention: Cross-references camera motion triggers and cargo door sensors with driver presence, escalating unverified intrusions into real-time “Theft in Progress” dispatch alerts.
- Cold-Chain & Lone-Worker Safety Logic: Triggers external hazard alerts or dispatch notifications if temperature-sensitive cargo doors are left unlatched while the driver walks away. The system can also trigger welfare checks if a lone operator remains beyond the proximity zone for more than 30 minutes.
