Press Release (UNEDITED): North Andover, MA – The Mobile Electronics Association (MEA) today announced the decision to reschedule the inaugural KnowledgeFest Detroit, originally slated for August 21–23, 2026.
As part of MEA’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-impact, first-class events, leadership conducted a comprehensive review of current regional market readiness, advance registration dynamics, and vendor participation. In alignment with feedback from industry partners and key stakeholders, MEA determined that taking additional time to build the new market momentum will ensure the Detroit event delivers the maximum return on investment for both exhibitors and attendees.
”KnowledgeFest events are built on high-value networking, rich educational content, and robust trade show floors,” said Chris Cook, MEA President. “Our priority is always to deliver an extraordinary experience that drives measurable business outcomes for our industry community.”
MEA’s strategy for 2027 will focus on KnowledgeFest delivering strong educational content, industry peer networking, and introduction to new products from leading manufacturers.
The Mobile Electronics Industry Hall of Fame ceremony to induct the Class of 2026, will be a virtual event streamed live on Friday, August 21, 2026 (more information to follow shortly).
In a phone interview, Cook answered a few of our questions.
Why postpone now? “We hold KnowledgeFest to an exceptionally high standard. Based on stakeholder input, extending our runway ensures we deliver the full-scale, high-density experience our community expects.”
Is KnowledgeFest still committed to the Detroit region? “Absolutely. Detroit remains a vital hub for the automotive and mobile electronics industry, and we are fully committed to bringing a world-class event to the area once conditions align for maximum impact.”
