Best Buy Displays 2026

Best Buy is in the process of removing old demo displays in hundreds of stores and switching to stacking product on shelves, a la Walmart style, confirmed three sources with knowledge of the chain’s merchandising strategy.

The displays were well known for having missing products or not working properly.

As one supplier noted, “Non-working displays are way worse than just have having inventory on the shelves. To me it’s a very positive step moving forward.”

Additionally, for the past few years, Best Buy has been experimenting with displays paid for by vendors, said several industry members.  These displays are now in about 300 stores. The brands on these displays are Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony, JVC and Kicker.

Best Buy did not respond to our request for a comment.
