RECOIL has announced the MAT-1 Multifunctional Audio Tester, a handheld diagnostic tool built for car audio installers. The MAT-1 replaces the company’s MST-1 model and adds a larger color display, expanded measurement functions and USB support for test audio files.
The MAT-1 measures DC voltage with max and min recording up to 3100V. It also functions as an audio multimeter, measuring AC voltage from 0 to 150V RMS, current from 0 to 100A RMS, frequency, impedance and power metrics.
The tool includes a crossover calibrator for setting low pass and high pass filters, and an amplifier gain matching function for balancing multi amp systems. Installers navigate the tool’s features through a large LCD display with menu based controls.
The MAT-1 runs on a built in rechargeable battery with Type C charging and includes an auto power off feature. It comes with test leads, RCA to alligator and test lead adapters, a current transformer sensor, and a USB audio drive loaded with test files.
RECOIL will release the MAT-1 soon. Pricing has not been announced.
