JBL RALLYBAR

HARMAN International is releasing the second generation of the JBL RALLYBAR lineup, adding AI Sound Boost, JBL’s new processing technology designed to optimize audio performance in open-air environments, where bass response is typically reduced.

The new AI Sound Boost uses a proprietary algorithm that analyzes audio in real time and adjusts driver output to maximize acoustic performance while reducing distortion at high volume levels. It runs continuously in the background and is not a selectable mode. JBL is including AI Sound Boost across several new portable Bluetooth speaker models, including the Flip 7, Charge 6, and Boombox 4, alongside the RALLYBAR lineup.

The second generation RALLYBAR also supports Auracast–an app to allow multiple devices to be managed within a single application. Unlike traditional Bluetooth pairing, which limits connectivity to the range of the designated source device, Auracast allows a single source to broadcast audio to an unlimited number of compatible receivers simultaneously, without individual pairing. For marine and outdoor installations, this means multiple RALLYBARs can be linked wirelessly with no hub or wired connection required. Auracast is an open standard developed by the Bluetooth SIG, the industry body that governs Bluetooth specifications, meaning any manufacturer can implement it.

The new lineup includes two 21-inch models, the RALLYBAR S2 and RALLYBAR 2, and a 35-inch RALLYBAR XL2. All three share the same driver configuration: 2.75-inch woofers, one-inch tweeters, and oval passive radiators, each powered by a 150W RMS Class D amplifier. The XL2 steps up to 300W RMS with 10 total speakers, with JBL claiming bass output equivalent to a 10-inch subwoofer.

Water resistance has been upgraded from IP66 to IP67. The RALLYBAR 2 and XL2 include RGB LED lighting and are available in white or black. The entry-level S2 omits the lighting and is offered in white only.

Pricing is $699.95 for the S2, $899.95 for the RALLYBAR 2, and $1,199.95 for the XL2. The lineup made its public debut at the Miami International Boat Show in February.
