European radar company launches in North America

A popular European radar/laser detector brand is entering the US and Canada with custom install and portable models.

Genevo s.r.o, based in the Czech Republic, has officially launched Genevo America led by CEO Ray Woolf, formerly of Uniden and Escort.

Genevo is considered a market leader in Europe.  It offers advanced threat filtering, and “exceptional detection performance,” it said.

Genevo detectors offer the advantage of requiring very little adjustment out of the box to set filters to prevent false alerts (rather than cycling through numerous adjustment settings), said Woolf.  The detectors may also work via hand gesture control.

All firmware has been maximized for North American roadways.  “The goal is to have little to no falsing, and only true alerts, as for police alerts,” said Woolf.

The company offers the Genevo MAX portable radar detector, the Genevo PRO II and PRO II DUO custom-installed systems, and the Genevo LP3 laser protection system. All detect and respond to modern enforcement technologies, including low-powered radar, photo radar systems, and advanced laser threats.

“…Our focus is on delivering the most advanced, reliable, and intelligently engineered radar and laser defense systems available, while building a dealer network that creates long-term value for our partners,” said Woolf.

Genevo America is pursuing a dealer-first strategy through specialty 12 volt dealers, it said, “This strategy is designed to maintain pricing integrity through disciplined MAP enforcement, ensure consistent product availability, and create strong margins for partners aligned with the brand’s long-term growth,” said a press statement.

Genevo systems address advanced Ka-band radar threats, MRCD/MRCT and photo radar systems, and laser-based enforcement technologies.
