Vueroid recently entered the US dashcam market with some innovative features. It is working with car audio distributors and it is planning to offer dashcams directly with car audio specialists where possible, said James Kim, Head of Strategic Planning & BD Division.
Vueroid is supplied by Korean chip maker NC&Co. (formerly Nextchip Co.), which has been producing chips and automotive recording products for 30 years and has proprietary algorithms for image processing and optimization, it said.
It began selling the S1 4K Infinite dashcam series in the US in September last year. It is offered one-, two- and three-channel models. The 2-channel model carries a price of $350–$400.
Vueroid has a Low Power Park Mode with a low 1 milliamp current draw and a wake up time of one second after impact.
It has a specialized parking mode that is combined with geofencing so that when the car is parked in your garage, parking mode shuts off to save on battery life (but when parked elsewhere, parking mode is activated).
The company uses proprietary technology to prevent the dashcam from shutting down or failing in extreme heat by automatically switching to a low-power mode. This will be offered throughout the Vueroid lines, said Kim. It also uses AI to help read otherwise fuzzy license plates.
During the first half this year, Vueroid will also offer the S1 QHD Infinite, expected to be priced between the low $200s and approximately $250. This will be followed by two single channel dashcams–the H1 4K Infinite and H1 QHD Infinite models in the $100–$150 range.
“In summary, our primary goal is to build a full product lineup across various price points depending on performance and channel configuration,” said Kim.
“Many brands in the market utilize common OEM manufacturers and often modify existing reference designs slightly before launching products…” said Kim. Vueroid operates its own in-house design team and manufacturing capabilities. We do not rely on external design sources, which enables us to consistently deliver products with distinctive and differentiated designs.”
The brand also includes a hardware kit for parking mode within the price of the dashcam (usually an option at an additional $40 to $50), it said.
