Long time independent rep, Ira Gold of Impact Sales & Marketing covering New England, has sold his firm to Tom and Robert Sylvester (pictured above, left to right respectively) of distributor Sylvester Electronics effective January 31.

Distributor Sylvester, based in Cumberland, RI now expands to become a manufacturer’s rep under the name Impact Sales, LLC.  The new rep firm will be led by Russ Tamberelli as Sale Rep.

Gold, 73, is retiring but will remain a consultant to Sylvester for the next two years.

Under the deal, Sylvester will now handle Impact’s brands for Connecticut and New England including Harman brands (JBL, Infinity, Harman Kardon)  CRUX, GCH Automotive, Blaupunkt, OMEGA, and Crimestopper.

Industry veteran Ira Gold of Impact Sales & Marketing

Tamberelli said,” Sylvester always carried many of the same lines as Impact Sales & Marketing. We purchased the brands from him.  With Ira retiring, we felt it was a great way for us to control some of the lines he had and expand on them.”

Gold said, “The most important thing to me is that my customers are taken care of the way I take care of them,” noting that Sylvester was his first choice.

Gold began his career in 1980 working for an Alpine rep and then for A to Z Distributing in CT.  He founded Impact Sales & Marketing in 1993.

“I love the car audio industry… it’s a great business.  I went around and did a farewell tour seeing my customers and taking pictures with them.  After all these years, they’ve become friends.”
