NAV-TV announced what is calls “one of the most advanced amplifiers on the market, capable of doing it all.”
The new ZEN-P9 (ZEN-POWER9) is a 9 channel amplifier/12 channel DSP that will be available for vehicles with A2B, MOST25, MOST50, MOST150 and Ethernet.
NAV-TV said the amplifier combines “high power density” with “competition level clarity.”
Vehicle-specific harnesses for the ZEN-P9 for easy installation will be available for the F150, Silverado, Bronco and Corvette, with more to follow.
The ZEN-P9 uses high end DG technology, but NAV-TV said what makes the amplifier stand out is its top-of-the-line amplification stage. It allows ultra low distortion and a noise floor better than what is seen in most class AB amplifiers, with high power efficiency, allowing for a compact chassis, said NAV-TV.
Class DG amplifier technology is a very efficient amplifier design that combines Class D pulse-width modulation (PWM) with Class G multi-level switching power supply rails. It senses the output signal level and switches between different supply voltages to provide high efficiency, low heat generation, and high power output, according to EE World.
ZEN-P9 Specifications:
1 x 500w RMS @ 2ohm (10% THD)
4 x 150w RMS @ 4ohm ( <1% THD)
4 x 70w RMS @ 4 ohm (<1% THD)
1 x RCA Pre-out (2.5v RMS)
2 x Digital additional ACM channels in Ford B&O applications (25w RMS)
with full DSP control
SNR ~ 105db, THD+N <0.005%
The amp includes a new, upgraded version of the ZEN DSP. It can be controlled directly through the vehicle’s head unit so features such as changing presets can be done without the need for an external controller.
The first available versions of the ZEN-P9 will be for 2018-2024 Ford, GM A2B, 2025+ Ford A2B and MOST25 optical vehicles. Ethernet, MOST50 and MOST150 are due in the second quarter this year.
The ZEN-P9 will be on display in a 2025 Ford F150 at KnowledgeFest in Las Vegas, Feb. 3-5 at the NAV-TV booth 915.
