Marty Deane of Cicada has acquired all remaining K40 inventory of radar and laser detectors and accessories to ensure consumers and dealers can continue servicing their K40 products via a new web portal.

The new K40 support web portal is a separate venture for Deane in addition to his role at Cicada.

Deane actually has a longstanding connection to the K40 brand. The company’s headquarters was located just 20 miles from his home, and he operated as a K40 dealer through his retail location for many years.

The K40 support website at www.k40-electronics.com offers replacement parts including remote controllers, sensors, and control boxes for most K40 products. “I frequently receive calls from dealerships after a vehicle has been traded in without the K40 RCUi remote controller for the built-in radar system,” Deane explained. “We can provide a solution that saves the end user thousands of dollars. We also supply radar sensors and other components damaged through accidents or normal wear and tear.”

Deane emphasized the importance of preserving the brand’s technical resources. By maintaining access to installation manuals, owner’s manuals, and technical bulletins, Deane ensures that K40 products can continue to be serviced and supported despite the company’s closure.

“Initially, my focus was on selling parts, but I realized the importance of supporting the brand long-term. Many people don’t realize that K40 closed approximately 10 months ago.”

Deane, however, is not responsible for fulfilling the ticket guarantee program offered by K40 and has no affiliation with the former company, he said.
