Modus AIM-10 2026

Modus Global released a video showcasing one of its upcoming new head units, the AIM-10 radio with a removable button cluster designed specifically for custom installations.

The AIM-10 ‘s button cluster and volume knob can be removed using a simple 2-screw system.

To help with custom mounting the 10.1-inch radio, Modus is also offering full CAD support for 3D printing and other digital fabrication of brackets, etc. The service will help retailers install the radio where dashboard space is limited.

Modus’ CAD support will include measurements for surface mounting, bracket assembly and complete perimeter measurements.

In a new YouTube video, Modus’ Jason Digos also teased an adaptive GUI feature that automatically adjusts based on whether the button cluster is attached or detached from the main unit. A future GUI update will allow on-screen volume control if a user chooses to mount the screen without the button cluster.

The AIM-10 also offers four on-screen programmable buttons that can be configured as on/off, on while pressed or on/off for a set time. For example, “on for 45-seconds then turn off.”

The AIM-10 screen can be mounted separately from the the single-DIN chassis up to 18-inches away, using a USB-C cable. Digos also said longer cables will be available in the future.

An updated ETA for the radio’s release may be announced shortly. A waiting list form is available on the Modus website

  1. YES! Why can’t the big 4 get on board with the needs of shops and professionals. Who are these guys? I have never heard of them before. And in this 1st offering they hit it out of the park. EVERY single feature we have been asking for since before covid. Optical out (which kenwood finally did, but cut JVC out for some silly reason). With Maestro support, 8 Ch RCA’s with Crossovers and time correction (no needs for basic DSP’s anymore), and PHYSICAL BUTTONS!!!! And they are Removable!!!! AND your giving us the CAD files!!!! The big guys should be taking notes.

The only question is, how well does it work. Did they nail the OS, how’s the response on the touch screen, how good is the anti glare? I’m normally not interested in a head unit that don’t come from one of the big 4. But this one seems to deserve attention.

    1. The real question is when is it available to purchase. Its exciting to talk about cool products but its another thing to produce them. I have reached out to this company multiple times over the past 8 months and for the first few months I got a “We will be shipping products next month” Now they don’t even acknowledge my inquiries. I’m still hopeful. But, if I’ve learned anything in this industry- its better to not let the cat out of the bag too early as that initial excitement will dwindle quickly. We all have ADHD/ADD some more than others lol
