JVCKENWOOD announced expanded compatibility for its Direct Replacement receivers, which now support select 2009–2017 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. The new capability is due to a new ADS Maestro APX-S8-IN1 installation kit.
The new ADS kit is particularly important as these earlier Nissan/Infiniti vehicles previously had limited or no aftermarket upgrade options, said JVCKENWOOD.
Additional vehicle-specific kits are planned for release in the near future. JVC and KENWOOD Direct Replacement radios now work with ADS kits for Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Infiniti, Lincoln, Nissan, Jeep, and RAM.
JVC and KENWOOD Direct Replacement receivers, introduced last spring, replace the factory display directly without the need for dash kits.
The line uses high-resolution touchscreen displays in 8- or 10 -inches. They use mounting brackets, the Maestro RR1 or RR2 interface, and vehicle-specific wiring harnesses. Factory dash functions such as volume, climate controls, and other integrated features are retained.
“We feel that Direct Replacement receivers are the future of car audio,” said Rick Noetzli, Product Manager at KENWOOD. “As we move forward, this approach allows us to support vehicles that previously could not accommodate a receiver replacement.”
The APX-S8-IN1 installation kit is available now from iDatalink.

Great news. As my daughters Nissan radio I would like to change out. Someone has finally thought out a solution. And if there is a dash kit some people could go to a larger screen.
Direct Replacement receivers are the future of car audio! Well said!
