Both Alps Alpine and JVCKENWOOD reported strong profits in sectors related to 12 volt for the first half of 2025.
In Alps Alpine’s Mobility segment, (under which Alpine falls) total profits for the first half of 2025 increased 201% in profit to $170 million from $57 million a year ago.
Revenue rose 2.2% over the same time period last year, and operating profit swung to a profit of $39 million compared to a loss of $36 million for the same period last year.
JVCKENWOOD’s Mobility & Telematics reported an increase in profits of 27.8%, citing significant increases in revenue from its OEM business. Profitability also increased in the Aftermarket Business segment due to pass-through product costs and cost reductions across the entire sector.
For Alps Alpine’s Mobility segment:
- Net sales for the six months ended September 30, 2025, rose to $1.82 billion (¥264,566 million), a 2.2% (¥5,597 million increase) increase compared to an estimated $1.78 billion (¥258,969 million) for the same period a year ago.
- The company was able to swing to an operating profit of $39 million (¥5,701 million), compared to an operating loss of $36 million (¥5,284 million lose) for the period a year ago.
For total Alps Alpine corporate results for the six months ended September 30, 2025:
- Net sales hit $3.21 billion (¥505,711 million), up from $3.11 billion (¥490,311) million a year ago.
- Operating profit rose to $146 million, an 89.2% increase from $77 million a year ago.
- Ordinary profit rose to $170 million, up 201.6% from $57 million a year ago.
- Profit attributable to owners of parent was $92 million, compared to a gain of $7 million a year ago.
For JVCKENWOOD’s Mobility & Telematics Services Sector:
- Net sales (Revenue) for the six months ended September 30, 2025, fell by 1.3% from $653.64 million (¥95,432 million), compared to $632.08 million (¥96,709 million).
- The revenue decrease was mainly due to the impact of U.S. tariff measures on the Aftermarket Business and the Telematics Service Business (due to a decline in sales of connected-type dashcams).
- However, revenue from the OEM Business increased due to solid performance in the dealer-installed option business in Japan and sales of in-vehicle components by ASK Industries S.p.A..
- The Mobility & Telematics sector was able to significantly increase its Core Operating Income by 27.8% to $17.43 million (¥2,545 million), up from $13.02 million (¥1,992 million) a year ago.
- This profit increase was driven by improved profitability in the Aftermarket Business due to the passing through of costs in product prices and fixed cost reductions across the entire sector.
For total JVCKenwood corporate results for the six months ended September 30, 2025:
- Total revenue dropped from $1.125 billion (¥176,574 million) to $1.07 billion (¥169,321 million) for a decline of 4.1%
- Core Operating Income also dropped from $53 million (¥8,319 million) from $82.9 million (¥13,015 million) for a decline of 36.1%
