Metra enters the car radio category

Metra Electronics unveiled at the 2025 SEMA Show its first car radios.

Under the Proscenium Line, the company will launch in spring 2026 two radio screens in 10.1- or 6.92-inch sizes that each work with a “brain box.”

The radios are offered as universal models and will also be accompanied by three vehicle-specific systems.  The kits cover Ford F150 4.3-inch radios, Ford F150 8-inch radios, and the Jeep Wrangler & Gladiator GT.

The new Proscenium radios were developed from the ground up in the US with a patented design.

The new radios offer wireless and wired CarPlay/Android Auto and Sirius XM capability, as well as HD Radio and Hi Res Audio.

Other features include:

  • Modular system
  • CAN Bus control via the screen
  • Interface attaches directly to the radio chassis, eliminating the need for multiple external boxes, excess wiring, and complex harnesses required by other brands.

More details will be revealed in the coming weeks, said Metra.

  1. Question is….will it support iDatalink?
If it doesn’t and they just support their own Axxess…probably won’t be considered an option for some

  2. From what they said at SEMA, ballpark pricing is like $1800-ish. But we’ll see if that holds with all the tariff nonsense.

The name is….something. Sounds like a certain bit of anatomy. But I taint gonna say which part :p

    1. Most customers can’t even pronounce “Hyundai” or “Rockford Fosgate”.. we’re gonna hear some hilarious renditions.
