PRV, which has been selling pro car audio components for 16 years, is expanding deeper into traditional car audio.
The company launched a traditional car audio line called the RS series in December with subwoofers and bass amplifiers and is now adding coaxial speakers.
Subwoofers start out at a relatively small 6.5 inches with a model RS65-SUBD4. It handles 300 watts of power with a 0.82-inch peak-to-peak excursion. It’s joined by an 8-inch RS8-SUBD4, handling 500 watts RMS, and a 10-inch RS10-SUBD4 and 12 -inch RS12-SUBD4, both handling 1,000 watts RMS.
RS subwoofers have carbon fiber dust caps, high-temperature voice coils, high-roll U surrounds, and advanced cooling systems. Pricing ranges from $89 to $169.
These are joined by bass amplifiers available in 500 or 900 watt models in 1 or 2 ohm versions, as well as a 3200 watt mono amp and an 8200 watt mono model. Prices range from about $99 to $699.
New are coaxial speakers designed as upgrades for stock factory speakers. RS coaxials use silk dome 1-inch neodymium tweeters and handle 80 to 100 watts RMS into 4 ohms. Models include the RS65-CX 6.5-inch at $69 and RS69-CX 6 x 9-inch at $99.
PRV said it is also expanding its MOTO motorcycle audio and pro audio lines later this year.
