Helix introduces new Compose speaker.

MSC, the North American distributor for Brax, Helix, and Match, is preparing to ship a new Helix 6.5-inch midbass speaker in its Compose series.  Compose speakers can act as a universal fitment or they can be used with vehicle specific Flexmounts.

Flexmounts are available for vehicles ranging from Lamborghini to Ford.

The new Ci5 W165FM-S3 is designed as a high excursion and high output driver that adds to the Compose i5 series (joining a 25 mm tweeter and 8 inch midbass).  Early in the 4th quarter, a 50mm wideband driver and 80mm midrange will be added to round out the series.

These new midbass speakers are expected to ship at the end of August with a retail price of $500.

Features of the Helix Ci5 W165FM-S3

  • 6.5” / 165 mm advanced midbass with “exceptional sound performance and versatile physical integration options”
  • High efficiency technology with 3 Ohm impedance, maximizing the power output of the amplifier
  • Silicon coated paper cone for impulse response and frequency response
  • Integrated phase plug for improved upper midrange reproduction, reduced compression effects, and increased thermal power handling of the voice coil
  • Engineered for maximum flexibility – delivers depth and dynamics in both 2-way and 3-way system configurations
  • High-tech polymer composite basket reinforced with glass beads for rigidity and minimized ringing
  • Specially shaped rubber surround for high linear excursion
