SkillsUSA Mobile Electronics Championships were held June 23-27 in conjunction with SkillsUSA’s National Leadership & Skills Conference at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA

Kicker’s Tech Force representatives Jacob Luckey and Aaron Malin, judged the 3-day mobile electronics event.

Luckey said “…it was exciting to see the growth of the program, and seeing the growth of returning students. The most exciting aspect of being a judge and on the technical committee is mentoring and seeing the continued growth of these car audio enthusiasts. We had returning champions competing; we had a past high school champion from 2024, now competing in the Post Secondary category for 2025 earning a 3rd place finish!”

Bryan W. Gary said “SkillsUSA is one of the only opportunities to showcase a career in the mobile electronics industry. These students get the chance to compete head-to-head to apply the knowledge that they learn in high school or local trade schools in an automotive environment. Competitors got hands on experience as well as a sneak peek on the steps in installation.”

Gary went on to describe the students’ faces when they experienced his personal demo car, “When they saw  my trunk and listened to the stereo; they were grinning from ear to ear. It was amazing to show them the creative side of car audio.”
