This new head unit looks like a cassette deck but it’s really a retro-designed, single DIN deck where the cassette door is actually a cover to hide a USB slot.
It is aimed at the European market, but may be worth a quick look! We just asked Pioneer if the deck, SXT-C10PS, will come to the US and will post any response.
The SXT-C10PS offers phone sync, Bluetooth, DAB+, and RGB multi-illumination. Pioneer is targeting the European classic car market, which continues to grow by about 7.5 percent annually, said a Pioneer press release.
“In Germany alone, around 1.5 million classic old-timer and young-timer vehicles are registered. As restoration trends rise and original OEM parts become harder to source, vehicle owners turn to familiar brands for solutions,” said Girish Janday, Marketing Manager at Pioneer Europe NV.
Pioneer studies show that owners prefer to keep the original appearance of their dashboards, avoiding modern screens.
“Pioneer’s solution is the new SXT-C10PS, combining 1980s retro aesthetics with a twist, by including modern features like Bluetooth® and DAB+ Digital Radio…The compatible Pioneer Smart Sync App enables users to set up the Advanced Audio Features directly from the driver’s seat, optimising the sound from the older, often poorly positioned speakers.”
The Pioneer SXT-C10PS will ship in October.

Great styling! Hopefully it won’t be $400 just because it looks cool. Would love to see the single DIN aftermarket trend more towards this look and feel.
