Hertz Marine announced availability of the Capri marine audio receiver, the first marine deck to be Hi-Res Audio certified, it said.
The Capri supports 24 bit/96 kHz playback. It also delivers 70 x 4 watts RMS power to four zones with independent controls. Each zone has its own subwoofer control and a customizable eight-band digital equalizer (EQ).
Hertz Marine said, “In a market where boaters invest heavily in amplifiers and speakers, the stereo – or source unit – has long been the weakest link, offering 16-bit/44.1 kHz CD-quality audio at best. Capri solves the performance issues of traditional marine stereos by offering 24 bit/96 kHz playback and an extended audio band up to 40 kHz to support lossless audio. This quality and performance lead Capri to be the only source unit to receive a Hi-Res audio certification…”
The Capri supports both wired and wireless Hi-Res Audio. It has a 4.3-inch advanced TFT (IPS) display visible even in bright daylight. It is also IP67 waterproof and offers support for external cameras like the Hertz HM CAM W01.
Other features include a global AM/FM tuner with Radio Data System (RDS), Weather band, DAB+, Bluetooth 5.1, Aux-In, and USB 2.0.
The Capri has a suggested retail price of $875.

I can’t wait for more info on this guy and the matching amplifiers to come with it! DSP on a boat I can’t wait!!! I wish they provided more info on the Digital Input/Outputs listed as a feature. Are we getting A2B in a headunit finally????? I was expecting this from a major headunit manufacturer 1st but I will take it now from anyone. Let’s end Analog transmission of audio signal to amp and finally enter the 2000’s with a proper connection for the Mobile Audio pace.
