ZZ2 is developing a CarPlay/Android Auto adapter for GM EVs in which CarPlay has been removed.

ZZ2, the interface company, is developing a wireless CarPlay/Android Auto adapter for newer General Motors electric vehicles.

The device is expected to be available in four to six months.

In 2023, GM announced it would no longer support CarPlay in its upcoming electric vehicles (but it continues to offer CarPlay in gas powered vehicles). The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV was the first GM vehicle to drop support for CarPlay followed by vehicles including the Chevy Equinox EV and Chevy Silverado EV.

Tiago Sperandio, VP of ZZ2 said of its planned CarPlay/Android Auto add-on for GM EVs, “We receive phone calls every other day asking for it [from expediters]. Dealers can’t sell vehicles without that feature. We bought a 2024 Silverado EV just to do this project.”

ZZ2 said it will offer more details in four months.
