For those retailers who cater to an upscale clientele, a new Jaguar remote start kit is available from Jagstart/Roverstart, a company launched by Maryland retailer Absolute Electronix.
Jagstart/Roverstart offers plug and play solutions for Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles. These vehicles are particularly difficult when it comes to installing aftermarket remote start, said Absolute Electronix and Jagstart/Roverstart owner Ata Ehdaivand.
An install can take several hours, said Ehdaivand where an experienced tech can install the Jagstart/Roverstart in under 15 minutes. Various kits are offered for model years 2014-2020. Each kit requires hiding a car key.
The remote start kits generally cost $900 and are compatible with leading remote start brands. Dealers often sell a kit plus remote start with labor for $1,500, said Ehdaivand.
Jagstart/Roverstart launched last year. Absolute Electronix also sells dash kits for select rare and high end vehicles. Most of these work with Sony’s line of AX radios. The kits require a minor modification to the radio and Sony will still honor the warranty, said Edhaivand.
Absolute Electronix also sell a radar/laser dash kit. It lets you place the display for a Radenso radar system into a Porsche 992, to achieve a factory look, with no cutting.
When we got wind of these we signed up. Ordered a few units and installed them. Oh man what a great unit definitely filled a void. Easy to deal with them if we had any question, and unit worked as promised. I have more on order and would totally recommend these units.
We just installed this product this weekend on a 13 Range Rover Evoque. Worked excellent! The customer was extremely happy! He was turned away from other dealers who may not even know about this product or maybe afraid to work on these types of vehicles. The team at RoverStart was amazing and customer service from the staff was beyond my expectations. We ordered it directly from jagstart.com and received it super quick. The system was installed with very limited wiring required. We added DroneMobile for smartphone control as well. That works too!! Keep up the great work and hope to offer this to more of our LandRover, RangeRover Clients!!
We’ve done a couple now at our store, both Jaguars and Land Rovers. Incredibly easy install, no programming required, and flawless operation. This is without a doubt the best solution for these cars.
I bought a remote start from them for a customer last week, and it didn’t work, even though they said it would. They sent me another one and said it should work fine, that everything is compatible. It’s just a really cheap product, and they don’t seem to know much about it or how to support it. Feels like they tested it on one car and called it good. It’s really frustrating because it ended up wasting my time and my customer’s time.
Not sure you purchased from us. I’m happy to help but I’m not sure you purchased from me or my team.
This does not seem characteristic of this product. I am very familiar with it and the reasons why it took so long to come to market, because of the eccentricities and year by year electrical changes of the Jaguar Land Rover product. Every model and model year had to be individually data logged, developed, and validated. I personally donated my time, resources, and vehicle access for testing and software development in the interest of enhancing the specialty market. “Feels like they tested it on one car” is just not the case here. If you did indeed purchase from Ata I would reach out to be taken care of. Knowing the hardware/software engineers behind this product as well as I do, any issues can be ironed out and “we can’t do it” is not in our vocabulary.
It’s interesting that you’re saying any issues can be ironed out, but now the customer’s car is supposed to come back for a third time to try and fix this? Do you really expect that to happen? This isn’t how it’s supposed to work. I’m just the installer it’s not my job to worry about whether the product works or not. Do you realize how much time and money I lose when I can’t move on to other cars because I’m stuck trying to troubleshoot this? Why should I have to “iron anything out”? When I buy products like Alpine radios or idatalink interfaces, they just work. Why is this any different?
Let’s start by getting the shop name and the car this “isn’t working” in. I have sold every single one of these and each and EVERY one I stay with the installer and did the install with them and they all function 100%. If you’re just here to comment that’s fine but let’s be fair to the “client” and call me and get it straight. Because this isn’t solving a thing
Well done, Ata. I hope it is a great success for you.
Although most dealers may not see these vehicles on a daily basis, it’s great to have a solution available for those that do. We need solutions for unique vehicles like these, in order for us to continue to be considered the specialists! Bravo!
