The SEMA Show saw some major announcements that we’ve covered over the past few weeks, but here we bring you some additional news briefs that didn’t make it to the headlines.

Firstech Ships New Dashcams
Firstech, which markets Compustar, DroneMobile and Momento brands, is shipping three new Momento dashcams, including the company’s first 4K model.
The new line of 3-channel models use radar sensing rather than motion detection to register movement or break-ins when the vehicle is parked. This reduces battery consumption by 90 percent.
The Momento dashcams offer new sleek cosmetics. They include an M8, and M8 Pro with a 2K camera and the M8 Max with a 4K image sensor at prices ranging from $199 to $399.
Specifications for the M8 Max:
- 4K UHD (2160p) Image Resolution
- Front and Rear FHD Camera
- 30 Frames per Second
- 64GB Micro-SD Card Included
- ECO Parking Mode Battery Saving Technology
- Voice Control

Hertz Harley Audio Merchandiser
Hertz announced at the SEMA Show a demo/merchandiser that comes loaded with its audio replacement products for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. These include an amplifier and 6.5 -inch speakers in the faring and 6 x 9 speakers in the saddle bags pre-cut for the speaker grilles. The system includes speakers with an SP4.900 amplifier and an Audison B-CON Bluetooth streamer so the retail salesman can stream songs to the merchandiser from a phone or tablet. Called the “Store Glide,” it is available to dealers for purchase.

First Look at Viper Transmitters
Here’s a peek at the new VOXX Viper and Avital transmitters announced at the SEMA show. They have a sleeker design, with an OEM look. All of the two-way and full LCD color display models now get a USB C input. There’s a new heavy-duty, water resistant transmitter with a 3 mile range for Jeep and off road vehicle owners and new antennae. Also from VOXX is a new flash tool that uses Bluetooth to allow flashing via a smartphone. Some of the remotes are starting to ship with the full rollout by January.

KICKER Offers New Marine Merchandisers
Two new marine audio merchandisers are available from Kicker to demo the company’s new M-Class marine speakers. They include one floor standing and one counter top. Shipping is planned for Q1 2025.
