Morel offered more details on its first full vehicle specific audio kit at KnowledgeFest in Las Vegas. The kit is a fully plug and play system for 2021 and up Ford Broncos with the premium B&O system. It includes a DSP/amplifier from mObridge that provides a plug and play A2B connection to the vehicle’s bus system.
The Bronco system also includes a prefabricated loaded slim subwoofer enclosure that mounts inside the tailgate using a unique “no drill” mounting system, said Morel. It is weather resistant and includes a Morel Ultimo PowerSlim PS104D 10” subwoofer in a vented enclosure.
The system fully replaces all the Bronco speakers. It uses five 4-inch and two 6.5-inch Morel speakers from its Hybrid series. There is no cutting or drilling required. The mObridge DSP/amplifier delivers 1150 watts.
Morel’s Casey Thorson said, “This system is completely plug and play with factory fit plugs for the mObridge amplifier and all speaker connections, including the subwoofer. Bronco specific speaker chassis were designed and constructed from aluminum for ultimate performance. The only wire that needs to be run in the system is the included power wire.”
The DSP/amp is pre-tuned with four presets accessible through the factory radio.
An install takes about five to six hours and another three to four hours for sound dampening, said Thorson.
Shipping is expected in April at $6,000.
