Elettromedia announced the appointment of Brian Power as Vice President of its Marine Division, which includes both the Hertz and Audison marine audio brands.
Power was VP US Retail Sales at JL Audio for over 16 years until late last year. He has over 40 years total experience in the audio industry. At JL Audio he worked with teams in

Power said his main goal is to increase consumer awareness of Hertz marine products to bring more boaters into dealers’ showrooms. “Hertz and Audison products are already in many of the trucks and SUV’s that boaters use to tow their watercraft, we want to ensure they are listening to Hertz marine products in their boats.”
Hertz is Elettromedia’s consumer marine brand, while Audison is the OEM marine brand.
We asked Power what he sees as a key trend in marine audio. He said, “The use of DSP to acoustically tune the entire boat. The use of DSP to adjust the system specifically for different conditions on the water. Hertz marine products allow the boater to have individual settings for different activities such as towing a skier, sports fishing or on the sandbar relaxing. The ability to set up the volume and tone setting for each zone on the boat is something consumers will want.”
DSP also allows high res audio which can be appreciated when a boat is out on the open water with the engine off. You don’t get the reflections that happen in a typical room.
Another trend said Power is the use of high quality ceiling speakers in yachts with high style grills.
Power officially starts his role at Elettromedia on February 1.
Pietro Pantaleone, Global President of Elettromedia, said. “…With his extensive experience and demonstrated track record throughout his career, we anticipate that he will significantly contribute to the advancement of our business in North America…”
Power said, “I am extremely excited and honored to join the Elettromedia family and to be working with a sales team I hold in very high regard. The Hertz marine family of products are amongst the best engineered products on the planet. Elettromedia products are in the best boat builders as well as the premier retailers in the U.S. The future is bright for Hertz and Audison and I am proud to be a part of that future.”
