Elettromedia announced new Hertz active enclosed subwoofers including an under-the-seat model.
The new Hertz active sub boxes include the DBA 201 in the DIECI line. It has a 440 watt He-Li Class D amplifier and is constructed of MDF and optimized using FEM simulation to maximize subwoofer output and performance. It uses two passive radiators for higher output and an 8-inch driver.
A super flat version of the DBA 201 is the new DIECI DBA 201F. It is an under-the-seat model with an 8-inch woofer and 440 watt amplifier and cast aluminum enclosure optimized using FEM simulation. High speaker-input voltage and 18V power-supply range make it compatible with every car audio system.
Both models use a built-in 24 dB/Octave low-pass crossover and an adjustable bass boost of 0-6 dB @ 45Hz that allows correction for OEM sound equalization. The variable phase inverter (0-180°) helps to optimize alignment between the active enclosure and the cabin speaker system regardless of the subwoofer’s location in the car.
An HRC 01 remote level control is included, and a built-in DC offset and audio sense circuit allows the DBA 201 and DBA 201F to turn on and timeout to standby mode automatically. These turn on functions can be defeated when a remote turn-on wire is available.
The DBA 201 and 201F each have a MAP price of $399.99. The DBA 201 will be available in Q4 2003, followed by the 201F in Q1 2024.
