Focal has updated its K2 Power line with a wide range tweeter, new motor and a new shallow mount speaker and woofer.
The fourth generation K2 line gets a FRAK (Full Range Aluminum Kevlar) tweeter in the top two models. The FRAK “M” shaped tweeter has a very low resonance so it can be crossed over at a low frequency, almost twice as low as traditional tweeters.
The line includes a shallow mount SUB 25 KXS 10-inch woofer and ES 165 K2S 6.5 inch components.
There are 10 new K2 speaker models: a coaxial kit, five 2-way component kits, one 3-way component kit and three subwoofers.
Most of the products use an “M” profile TKME tweeter that allows reproduction of high frequencies up to 22kHz.
The K2 line ships November 1 at prices from $749.99 to $2299.99.
