Firstech is shipping to the US a new flagship iDatastart HC4.5 remote starter kit with a transmitter that is the first in the industry to be software updatable, it said.
Either an end user or dealer may update the transmitter through iDatastart’s Weblink to enable new features or to fix any software glitches.
The two-way remote is ultra slim, with a range of up to 6,000 feet using LoRa technology. It includes a 1.54-inch TFT LCD and it comes with screen protectors.
The remote uses a 190mAH lithium-ion, USB rechargeable battery to power the device for up to 60 days of use, and it uses a low-power Arm Cortex-M4 MCU with 128kb of flash memory.
It is paired with a second remote that is not Weblink updatable and does not have an LCD screen.
The HC4.5 full remote start system has a suggested retail price of $449.99 MSRP. The remotes sold separately as an upgrade kit have a suggested retail price of $219.99.
