UNAVI, a supplier of aftermarket navigation since 2009, has shifted its focus to CarPlay and Android Auto adapters. It has undergone staff changes and revamped its distribution to focus on retailers, said Manager Pedro Alvarez.
Actually, UNAVI, began the shift during the pandemic, following the decline in demand for navigation,
The company was already a certified supplier to Infiniti and Nissan and began with a CarPlay add-on module for those vehicles. It now also offers CarPlay/Android Auto modules for Audi, BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, MINI, Porsche, Volkswagen, and Volvo. Its most recent kit is for the Honda Accord.
The new UNAVI kit adds wired and wireless Android Auto and CarPlay to 2018-2020 Honda Accords with 7 inch displays. Users can switch back and forth between the OEM Honda infotainment system and the UNAVI CarPlay system on the factory screen.
The new plug and play kit installs underneath the factory head unit. Installation times vary between 1 to 3 hours. (See a video here).
A kit for Cadillac is expected to be added in the near future.
