HARMAN announced at CES a new partnership with Metra Electronics in HARMAN’s first Harley-Davidson specific motorcycle audio kits.
HARMAN will use Metra Saddle Tramp products in combination with three new audio kits under the Infinity Kappa Perfect PowerSports brand.
The audio systems will work with a Metra Saddle Tramp DSP processor to integrate the amplifier into Harley motorcycles. Additionally, Infinity amplifiers and speakers will use Saddle Tramp mounting brackets.
The three Infinity audio systems work with Harley Road Glide and Street Glide motorcycles, years 2014 and up.
The kits consist of 2-speaker, 4-speaker, and 6-speaker audio systems in addition to accessory lower fairing installation kits for twin-cooled and non-twin-cooled applications.
The new Infinity speakers include a removable dome tweeter that is certified for Hi-Resolution Audio. The speakers use many industry first materials, said HARMAN. They include Basalt Fiber woofers, neodymium motors and a Polyphenylene Sulfide-dome tweeter. They come in 6.5” and 6×9” versions with factory fit grilles.
HARMAN said in a statement, “The amplifiers and speakers, once paired with Saddle Tramp’s direct fit brackets and DSP, are tuned by HARMAN Acoustic Sound Engineers…The DSP flattens the factory audio settings through its head unit CAN connection. Detailed work instructions make the job simple to install and provide a factory looking result which installers are proud of, and end consumers can do on their own.”
The new Infinity motorcycle kits will begin shipping in April with options ranging from $999.95 – $2499.95.
