Alpine (Alps Alpine North America) is now shipping the main components of its new Status line that uses trickle down technology from the ultra high-resolution $35K AlpineF#1Status system, but at a lower price.
The new Status system delivers Hi-Res Audio at 192kHz/24bit playback, while its higher end cousin, the AlpineF#1Status, handles 384kHz/32bit Hi-Res Audio.
Newly shipped Status components include a Digital Media Player, Digital Sound Processor and three amplifiers. These join two Status speakers that shipped in September.
The Digital Media Player has two parts– a commander unit with the Alpine “six-chiclet design” that controls settings, and a separate black box.
The commander unit can be used as a standalone music source or integrated with a factory or aftermarket head unit.
The HDS-990 Digital Music Player handles a wide range of digital music file formats from MP3 to Hi-Res for flexible playback options. It has a street price of $1,399.95.
It is joined by the HDP-D90, a 14-channel processor with built-in 12-channel amplifier. The processor has an internal sampling rate of 192kHz/64Bit and an ultra-wide audio bandwidth of 10Hz-110kHz for recording studio-level sound. A copper-plated chassis brings the signal-to-noise ratio to >110dB and minimizes noise and distortion during playback.
The HDP-D90 includes multiple source inputs for flexible system building with an option to retain a factory head unit, add an aftermarket head unit, and add the Status Digital Media Player. The processor can also receive music sent directly from a smartphone via Bluetooth wireless streaming.
With 12-channels of amplified outputs, the HDP-D90 can be used as a standalone power source or using 10 channels of RCA output, can add Alpine Status amplifiers for a customized system configuration, including the HDA-F60 4-Channel Amplifier, HDA-V90 5-Channel Amplifier, or HDA-M80 Mono Power Amplifier.
The HDP-D90 has a street price of $2,399.95.
