BOSS Ultra Large Radio

BOSS Audio Systems will ship in the first quarter next year a 14 inch floating radio, one of the largest in the industry. It is joined by an 11 -inch version, both with CarPlay and Android Auto.

The radios are mechless (no CD) and are primarily aimed at trucks, big rig trucks and RVs. They detach from their single DIN chassis to “float” in front of the dashboard.

“There are a lot of RVs out there that are older and don’t have newer technology. Now they can have a giant 14-inch screen to help them with maps and backing up,” said Colin Ross, Associate Brand Manager.

Floating radios overall have been among BOSS’s best sellers, after the company’s top selling BE7ACP, he said. This is due to the Tesla-effect, where people see the larger Tesla displays and want them in their own vehicles, added Ross.

The new BE14ACP, 14-inch floating radio has a price of $599.99 and the BE11ACP, 11-inch version carries a price of $449.00.

Additional features on both radios include:

  • RBDS tuner, balance/fader and preset built-in EQ
  • Plays Bluetooth/USB, MP3, WAV, AVI, FM/AM
  • Compatible with audio out from smart phones and MP3 players

  • Front, rear & sub pre-amp outputs

    1. Boss was one of the few suppliers who had reasonable stock over the pandemic giving dealers something to sell, I don’t recall that being the case for the top tier brands, so I wouldn’t be so quick to poo-poo on them as they certainly aided in keeping some dealers afloat!
