12V Distributor Purchased by Meyer Distributing

A long-standing fixture in 12 volt distribution in the South, P&E Distributors, has been purchased by Meyer Distributing, a nationwide aftermarket truck and automotive accessory company based in Indiana.

Meyer said it purchased P&E, owned by the Eatherly family since the early 1960s, “to strengthen its position in the 12 volt automotive, marine and powersports markets,” according to Jeff Braun, Meyer Distributing CEO.

Braun said, “The P&E and Meyer expert sales teams provide customers hundreds of combined years of experience in the industry.  This knowledge, coupled with Meyer’s expertise in logistics and warehousing in both regional and national markets, will deliver a very competitive platform for vendors and customers…”

Braun offered no further details on the purchase. Local retailers said they had not been notified of further details.

Josh Eatherly, Executive VP of P&E Distributing has left the company.

P&E is a member of the 12 volt distributor group, the Elite Distributor Alliance

P&E Distributing began as the Rayco Racing Division and later became Tennessee Speed Sport in 1962. The business continued to grow and in 1967 it was incorporated as P&E Distributors, dba Tennessee Speed Sport.

Meyer Distributing is a family owned business operating since 1937, with a focus on automotive truck and performance gear.  It’s based in Jasper, Indiana and it carries a mix of over 700 product lines
