JVC Mobile Entertainment announced it will unveil at the KnowledgeFest show in Las Vegas this week its first short chassis receiver. The new CarPlay/Android Auto deck will be joined by two waterproof amplifiers.
Shipping and pricing details will be announced soon, said the company
The KW-M875BW is JVC’s short chassis deck with a slim 3 3/8-inch mounting depth. It includes wireless Android mirroring and 6.8-inch screen as well as CarPlay/Android Auto, plus Advanced iDatalink Maestro RR support with a newly designed user interfaces. The deck is SiriusXM ready, and it includes HD Radio, 4 camera inputs, support for Hi-Res Audio via a wireless or wired connection, and three sets of 5-volt RCA preouts.
In another first for JVC, the deck uses USB Type-C and HDMI Type-D rear inputs for faster charging and easier smartphone integration.
JVC’s two new waterproof amplifiers (joining the recent KS-DR2004D ) include a Bluetooth amplifier, model KS-DR2104DBT, which is waterproof/dustproof, with 4-channels and a “conservative” rating of 50 watts RMS x 4 at 4-ohms or 75 watts RMS x 4 at 2-ohms. It can function as a source unit without the need for a head unit. The amplifier also includes a wired remote controller with a large volume knob/controller that can be operated even with gloves on.
A second new waterproof amplifier is the monoblock KS-DR2104DBT rated at 300 watts RMS.
Also at KnowledgeFest, JVC is showing the KS-U70 Type-A to Type-D HDMI cable. It is designed to fit in the new KW-M875BW’s recessed input for superior video playback from a compatible third-party device.
JVC will also display two recently released single DIN radios: the KD-TD72BT and KD-T92MBS (marine/motorsports version).
