Elettromedia’s Hertz brand announced its first Harley-ready amplifier and separate digital signal processor along with several other new car and powersports audio products.

The new Hertz motorcycle DSP is the S 8 that can take a signal from a Harley radio and strip it of digital signal processing so it’s ready to accept aftermarket products.

“There are over a dozen different tuning preset curves that Harley may have used in the system, dealers tell us, so there’s a lot of situations that dealers have to overcome to get their customers the sound they want,” said Ken Ward of Elettromedia.

Additionally, the DSP may be used for tuning. It works directly with a smartphone app for set up and adjustment, and the software shows an actual diagram of the motorcycle. Its plug and play cables work with most Harley models.

The S 8 has 6 analog inputs and 8 outputs. It is shipping soon at a price to be announced.

It is joined by an SPL Show, high power amplifier that is ultra compact. It has a sealed aluminum chassis and sealed harnesses with an IP65 waterproof rating (can resist low power water jets and spray). The model SP 4.900 comes with Harley plug and play cables and it delivers 160 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms; 250 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms and 480 watts x 2 (bridged) at 4 ohms.

It works with smartphone apps as well as Windows and Apple OS software and it offers 6 Hi/Lo inputs and 8 outputs and a digital coaxial input. It ships soon at a price to be announced.

Other new Elettromedia products include an Audison Hi-Res Audio certified Bluetooth receiver called the B-CON.  It is the first BT5.0 receiver to be certified by the Japan Audio Society and bear the official Hi-Res Audio seal, said Elettromedia.

The B-CON lets users stream true Hi-Res Audio from an Android phone and get the best possible audio from an iPhone (iPhones don’t yet allow Hi-Res streaming).

The device also has a Toslink output and high resolution analog outputs.  It can be used in vehicles without a traditional head unit or it may be used alongside a factory radio as a parallel premium sound source (for those who may want to keep their radio for the features, but want an improved sound source alongside it). LED indicators show the signal level. It ships around the end of the year.
