What’s the Best Selling Deck in the Pandemic

The pandemic shifted sales patterns in car audio in many ways and those shifts are now showing up in data from The NPD Group.

BOSS Audio now appears in the chart for the Top 5 Best Selling AV Radios for the first time in years in dollar sales to consumers.  BOSS also took the number two slot for an AV Radio in unit sales to consumers.

The very top selling model, however, has remained consistent, with the Alpine iLX-650 retaining the number one slot in dollars and units. It entered the market as one of the first name brand decks with CarPlay to dip below the $300 price point. (See chart above as well as below charts).
