Sony New High End Car Radio

Sony Electronics Inc. announced its first head unit under its newly revived high end Mobile ES line of car audio products.

The high-res audio receiver has a 10.1 inch display and is Sony’s first radio with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The model XAV-9500ES supports high-res audio streaming via LDAC over Bluetooth. It supports 192 kHz / 24-bit WAV, FLAC, ALAC audio files, and DSD (22.4MHz) files via 192 kHz / 24-bit PCM conversion.

Sony says the deck delivers the same caliber of sound quality as its high end home audio products with an ESS DAC chip for digital to analog conversion. The deck includes other audiophile grade components.

  1. The Five-beam Frame design disperses resonance while the integrated Dynamic Air Diffuser ensures efficient air circulation for smooth cone travel and cooling of the voice coil.

    1. So what you are telling me is there are speakers built into it.
How many voice coils does the deck have? and what ohm?
Help me understand this. SONY is magic!
If not, what does it have to do with this headunit?

      1. Hi Michael. Sony has since retracted the statement on that feature and I have removed it from the story. Thank you for pointing it out.

  2. “Five-beam Frame Structure & Dynamic Air Diffuser”
WHAT KIND OF MUBO-JUMBO IS THIS?
