The Mobile Electronics Association (MEA) announced its next KnowledgeFest Live virtual event will be held March 19-21, 2021 on West Coast time, with the aim of drawing more left coast retailers and industry members.
The last KnowledgeFest, held in December, drew over 2,000 dealers mainly from the East Coast and Central USA, and dealers requested an event geared to West Coast time.
The KnowledgeFest West LIVE event will start at 2pm Pacific time. But while focused on the Western half of the country, a virtual event can include dealers from any part of the world. At the last virtual event, 10 percent of the retail attendees were from outside the US.
The event will include more advanced seminars aimed at retail owners and managers. Given that many retailers enjoyed extra business over the past year, with more profits, there will be a seminar on how to invest in large purchases for your business—purchases such as a demo car or new displays. Also, industry trainer Ken Ward will teach a class on accounting.
While the virtual format was able to attract more dealers than KnowledgeFest in-person events, some retailers were unable to navigate the platform and weren’t able to take advantage of the seminars or virtual dealer booths. So MEA expects to conduct webinars over the next few weeks to demonstrate how to take advantage of the virtual event.
